About
Twice Measured is the independent design practice of Nick Vicente (hey there 👋)—designer & partner at Truth & Consequences.
I formed Twice Measured as a way to ensure that I am dedicating the time and effort to promoting the messages that matter most to me—messages for equity in the arts, food justice, civil rights, community development, and other interests that serve you & me.
So why "Twice Measured"? Well, if I learned anything helping my dad fix things around the house when I was growing up, it's that things tend to go a lot smoother when you put in the work upfront and do everything right the first time. So naturally, I extend the same approach to my professional work.
Philosophy
I believe prioritizing access is a fundamental pillar of ethical design. I understand the limitations that cost and affordability can create when it comes to creative work for smaller or grassroots organizations. For this reason, I accept alternate forms of compensation, such as bartering, trading labor, or TimeBanking for select projects.
This approach isn't offered to everyone. But if you would like to inquire about collaboration or partnership please don't hesitate to reach out.
